The Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco is also known by its old name, “The FILLMORE district”. The Western Addition borders the fire line from the 1906 earthquake — homes east of this area were destroyed (burned), whereas most of those in the Western Addition survived. If you are looking for Victorian homes, look for them west of Van Ness — you won’t find many east of Van Ness, as that street was essentially the fire break.
