Emeryville is a small east bay city located in northern Alameda County. Located on the waterfront of the bay, between Berkeley and Oakland, Emeryville has cool bay breezes and great bay views. In the 1980’s, high tech and biotech discovered Emeryville, and then all sorts of retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and shops followed. Many of Emeryville’s residential housing units can be found in just 3 complexes — Watergate, Pacific Park Plaza, and Emery Bay. In fact, multi-unit buildings, apartments, condos, and townhomes drastically outnumber single family detached houses in Emeryville. Due to its strategic position right next to the Bay Bridge, Emeryville enjoys one of the best commutes in the East Bay. Emeryville is loaded with restaurants and shops, and is a favorite town of young single professionals. In 2010, the California state census counted 4,720 residential housing units in Emeryville, of which only 270 were single family detached houses, 329 were single family attached homes, 4,084 were apartments, townhouses, or condominiums, and 37 were mobile homes.
