Rodeo is an unincorporated Contra Costa County town with a population of about 9,000 people. Since it is unincorporated, Rodeo is governed by a board of supervisors in Martinez, and patrolled by the Contra Costa Sheriff's department. Rodeo is a quiet, suburban town, with many newer homes. Rodeo is served by the John Swett School District, which serves nearby Crockett as well. The high school and middle school are in Crockett, and the elementary school is in Rodeo. Rodeo is made up of three housing neighborhoods: the old town, west of the I-80 freeway, Viewpointe, a subdivision built in the 1970's, and a small waterfront neighborhood. The town's center is moving gradually towards the freeway. You can reach the Rodeo Chamber of Commerce at 510-799-7351.
