Greenbrae is a Marin County town known for its views of Mt. Tamalpais, as well as its very high academic rankings. Kids attend Bacich ELementary and Kent Middle School, which rank in the 98th and 99th percentiles, among the highest in the state. Greenbrae is about a 5 minute commute to the San Rafael bridge, for those who work in the east bay. Larkspur annexed much of Greenbrae years ago. Technically, Greenbrae should be identified as a neighborhood of Larkspur for that fact, yet many people still consider the unincorporated area of Greenbrae to be a separate town, with its own identity -- so we present it here as such. Greenbrae is located west of Hwy 101 and north of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, with a western border of Wolf Grade Drive, approximately. Unlike the mysterious, well-hidden nearby town of Kentfield, at least Greenbrae shows up on maps and navigational systems -- which makes a good argument for considering Greenbrae to be a distinct town, and Kentfield NOT to be! If you enter Greenbrae at La Cuesta Drive and then ascend into the hills, the homes get a bit fancier and larger as you go up, and many of the homes in the hills have views. Greenbrae is an unincorporated town near Larkspur. Many homes have views of the bay and/ or of Mt. Tamalpais. The Greenbrae subdivision is located just west of Hwy 101 and immediately north of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Its western border is approximately Wolf Grade Drive.
